New Bern, NC
I, Gregory Ryan Fahy was born here in New Bern. Raised by Michael James Fahy, 101st Screaming Eagles Combat Veteran of Vietnam, Proprietor of The Print Shop of New Bern for 37 years and raiser of five children (I'm the youngest) with his beautiful bride Laura Ann Carter Fahy who does the heavy lifting in the household. Once I was off to school she was a proofreader and typesetter for The Print Shop of New Bern. She went on to a 16 year career as a Preschool Teacher for First Presbyterian Preschool and is now retired! I attended Saint Paul's Education Center for my schooling K-8th. While there I learned discipline, respect, honor and my God given talents. I played soccer, well I lived soccer for the 8-1-81 New Bern Bears Classic Team, GO BEARS! I attended highschool at New Bern High where I continued my soccer career, ran track and cross country.
I got married after highschool, moved to Raleigh and went to Wake Tech for Computer Programming and Computer Networking, this was in 2001. After briefly working in the computer industry I did a 180°. We moved back to New Bern, bought a house and I entered the Horticulture program at Lenoir. In the mean time I worked as a manager in retail and did various landscaping projects in my free time. Later my wife and I owned Bonsai Birds downtown. We built the New Bern Round House and then moved to Ecuador for several years. Once we moved back to New Bern, we had Isabela and Lily with Alexi on the way.
After sixteen years of marriage we parted ways, I found Jesus and He put me on the right track. I was baptised in November of 2019 at Brices Creek Bible Church where I still attend with my three daughters. I started North Carolina Landscapes which was a huge success. After some time God moved me back home to take care of my Dad who has developed Alzheimer's and through the Veteran's Affairs (VA) I am now a certified caretaker. Now Mom is retiredish and God has set me on this specific path towards Mayor of New Bern. As I am being equipped I am humbly marveled at the unfolding.
